Fighting the Negative Effects of UV Rays

Doesn’t it feel great to walk under the sun and enjoy the warmth it brings? When you do, you don’t only get the cosy feeling that the sun offers but also Vitamin D from the ultraviolet rays, which your body needs for optimal health.

Unfortunately, the sun, with its UV rays, can also cause negative effects, one of which is skin cancer. And this is one reason why people try to block it off by using UV Protective Daily Moisturiser, sunblock, and other skin care products.

When you protect yourself from harmful ultraviolet rays, you can keep its undesirable effects at bay and maintain your healthy skin. But how do you exactly do this?

All About Ultraviolet Rays

According to Cancer.org, ultraviolet radiation is a form of electromagnetic radiation that comes mainly from the sun. But it can also be emitted by man-made equipment like welding torches, tanning beds, incandescent lightbulbs, and UV lamps.

Although UV rays are more known for their negative effects, their health benefits cannot be denied. It helps in the production of Vitamin D and helps increase energy and improve mood.

However, too much exposure to UV rays can lead to serious health conditions, the worst of which is skin cancer. In addition, premature aging of the skin and sun damage like wrinkles and keratosis, which you don’t want to happen, is also caused by UV rays.

But you don’t have to live like a vampire and avoid the sun completely just so you can stay away from UV rays. There are simple ways you can do to fight it off.

Ways to Fight Off UV Rays

Sun exposure is unavoidable, which means you will still be exposed to UV rays no matter how careful you are. But don’t worry. Small doses of UV rays won’t hurt you.

And you can always do something to keep your UV radiation exposure at its lowest.

  • Stay in the shade, especially during midday. This time is when UV rays are strongest and can cause more damage.
  • If midday sun exposure is unavoidable, protect your skin by wearing long-sleeved clothing and pants.
  • Wear a wide hat to keep your head, face and neck out of the sun.
  • Wear sunglasses, specifically those that block UVA and UVB, to protect your eyes.
  • Use UV protection skin products like anti-UV moisturizer and sunscreen with an SPF of 15 or higher every time you go out. Apply these products liberally on skin that’s not covered with clothes.

The effects of UV rays can be harmful enough to cause serious medical conditions, like cancer. And, of course, it can make your skin look ugly and unhealthy. Fortunately, you can keep yourself safe from these bad effects using the simple ways mentioned above.

UV Protective Daily Moisturiser and sunblock are two of the most effective yet easiest products to use against UV rays. And you can always limit sun exposure by using a protective covering or going out only when UV levels are at their least. Then, you can reduce your skin’s absorption of UV rays.

As long as you know what to do and what skin care products to use, you can easily stay safe and keep your skin healthy even when you stay under the sun. Plus, you can enjoy strolling or running outside without having to worry about UV rays.
