Reprudencia sonkey born March 26 1992 is a Cameroonian/ Nigerian/American singer, actress, Dj, philanthropist fashion artistic director, and businesswoman. Born in Cameroon and raised in all over Cameroon, Dencia moved to America in 2006 and eventually moved to Los Angeles, CA in 2008 where she started her music career in 2011. After getting many record label deal offers, she turned them down and went the independent route and released her first single Beri Beri which was influenced by Afrobeats and peaked within the top ten of the Nigerian music chart and #1 on the USA iTunes world music. In 2013, she founded whitenicious by Dencia, one of the most popular skin lightening and brightening brands n pop culture for the past decade.

Early Life

Reprudencia sonkey was born on March 26th 1992, in Yaounde, Cameroon. She is the daughter of Ex volley ball player turned United Nations worker But Dencia was raised by her grandparents Sonkey Prudencia and sonkey Joseph who raised her as their last born until she found out at 16 that Mirabelle wasn’t her sister but her mother and her grandparents were her grandparents not her parents. Dencia has no real siblings but was raised with her grandparents 30+ children as her siblings.

As a child, Dencia grew up with many health issues due to having misdiagnosed Addison’s disease and had many CT scans for always passing out. As a 14yrs ok’d virgin an Obgyn once told her Dr it might be an abortion. The doctors even thought it was a tumor because it was that intense. By the time she was 14, she’d had 3 surgeries in her nose, throat and right breast.

In 2016, Dencia was outed for dating international soccer player Paul Labile Pogba, the couple was accused of having loud sex at the Lowry hotel in Manchester, Uk. Nothing was heard of them before and after that. Paul pogba was spotted in la driving the Pop singer’s pink Rolls Royce. No other relationships have been reported of the Singer. In 2013 Dec 25th, the pop Queen released her skincare brand called whitenicious which rocked the world and was called the most polarizing skincare brand in pop culture. Dencia released a lot of backlash for whitenicious but never backed down, in a press tour in London she tried explaining why she used the name whitenicious. She said “White means pure” she used the color white in her brand to say once people have no dark spots. Acne and hyperpigmentation, they feel clean and pure. The black community especially African Americans took it the wrong way according to Dencia. Whitenicious is said to have made over $100M in the last 8 years.

Dencia has singed been associated with other brands such as Darklicious. Known for her fashion sense, she is said to have a fashion brand in works. Dencia has since hinted are releasing whiteniciouskids as seen on Instagram @whiteniciouskids which will be an Organic skin lightening brand for kids.
