How to Find the Ideal Vehicle Based on Your Lifestyle

Finding the right car based on your lifestyle is easy enough, right? Well, not quite. With so many car makes and models – both online and offline – it can be even more difficult to choose! These models may have all the latest bells and whistles – but the question is, are those bells and whistles for you? We don’t just choose a vehicle because it looks good, after all. The majority of car buyers today want to make a practical and economical choice as well. In other words, we want to choose a vehicle that makes perfect sense – but is something that we could love. We want to choose a car that’s based on our lifestyle. But how do you do that? Here’s how to find the ideal vehicle based on your lifestyle.

How long is your commute?

One of the most important questions you should ask yourself is this: how long is your commute every day? Your commute will determine the kind of vehicle that would make sense to drive. For example, if you have a short commute, you could go for something sportier with a good suspension, even if it doesn’t have the ideal fuel economy. On the other hand, if your commute is long, you could go for something that’s completely electric, so you don’t have to pay for gas ever again.

As we all know, the year 2022 ended with soaring gas prices, and if you are not looking forward to that again – especially if you have a long commute – you’re better off with an electric vehicle or at least a hybrid. Look for a vehicle with a soft suspension that offers a more comfortable riding experience.

How big is your family?

This is another important question if you have a family or are thinking of starting one. For instance, families tend to be huge in Utah, so you will need something bigger – and Young Auto is a dealership that knows just what it’s talking about, having used and new vehicles on its roster. But when you’re thinking about a new vehicle for your family, do you have small kids or are you growing? If you are, you would probably get by with a crossover SUV or even a sedan. But if your kids are teenagers or you want everyone to be extra-comfortable, you may want to consider a full-sized sports utility vehicle or a minivan.

Other considerations include the space in your garage or driveway, your budget, and the vehicle’s features and capabilities. For example, your family might be fine with a minivan for soccer practice, but if you like going on road adventures as a family, then an SUV may be a wiser choice.

What are your hobbies?

When choosing a vehicle, think of your hobbies as well. What do you like to do on weekends? When you have free time? Do you like to go on long drives or a weekend Pilates class? Think about your hobbies and what you love to do; this will help you choose the best car for your preferences.

What is your budget?

Last – but certainly not least – think carefully about your budget allocation. Not being overwhelmed by your monthly car payments is important, so set your budget early on. The experts say the ideal budget is around 10 to 15 percent of your take-home pay per month, but you also have to factor in other expenses such as insurance, registration, and repairs.
