How To Put Together a Kids Loungewear Outfit

Best Advices On Traveling With Kids

Choosing the right clothing for your kids is very important as it can be the difference between them feeling comfortable in their day-to-day activities and throwing a tantrum when in certain situations such as traveling. Over the last two years, loungewear for both kids and adults has become increasingly popular as people are spending more time indoors than outdoors.

If you have kids and haven’t shopped in a while for them, now might be the perfect time to update their wardrobes in tandem with their longer stays indoors/Here’s everything you need to know on how to style their kids for lounging or comfort.

A Fashion Evolution

People’s due to the COVID-19 pandemic led to a partial global shutdown over 2020 and 2021. The pandemic measures and lockdowns put into place lead to online schooling, which in turn has led most children and adolescents to spend more time at home than any time before in their lives.

Unsurprisingly, this has also led to a fashion evolution of shorts as clothing priorities for most people have changed. People now look for more comfortable attires that are less flashy and casual, which they can wear both indoors and outdoors. As such, loungewear is becoming increasingly popular whether you’re at your workplace, on a family dinner night out, or on a family holiday.

This fashion evolution will definitely revert back at some point as the world adjusts to the pandemic with appropriate steps. But for now, it seems that loungewear will be a popular choice among both kids and adults for some time to come.

So alongside upgrading your wardrobe this year, you might also want to upgrade your kid’s wardrobe for the near future.

Dress for Comfort

The one thing that you need to keep in mind when shopping for kids’ clothes is that there are some obvious differences between kids’ and adults’ attire. When it comes to it, kids can be really picky when it comes to what they want to wear. This is exactly why you really want to keep these differences in mind.

Fabrics

The first difference comes in the choice of fabric. Fabrics that are considered comfy and safe for adults are not the same for kids as some fabrics can lead to itching and rash on children’s skin, something you definitely don’t want to happen.

You especially need to keep an eye out for fabrics that have flame retardants in their presence can cause can skin cancer, neurological deficits, and more in children.

Colors

The second difference comes in the choice of colors. Kids are usually fond of bright and loud colors, while adults prefer muted tones of different colors. As such, you might have one color in mind when you’re buying loungewear for your kid, but they might not end up liking it at all. Your best bet is to shop online with your kid when buying clothes to ensure they get what they like.

The third difference comes in accessories, specifically in terms of models and colors. Kids and adults don’t have the same tastes when choosing accessories like eyeglasses, sunglasses, wristbands, jewelry, and more. Getting kids prescription sunglasses and eyeglasses online is quite busy; make sure your kid is browsing alongside you when buying it.

Comfort

As a rule of thumb, go for baggy and comfy anything. Kids aren’t particular about the fit of clothes, unlike adults who might prefer tighter fits. Kids have an acute dislike for tight cuffs and bands that constrict the arms, hips, and legs. Choose clothes with elastic bands and cuffs as they allow for more adjustment and breathing room.

You can also go for clothing sets as they offer matching tops and bottoms at one go, but if your child is bigger or smaller for their age, buying tops and bottoms separately are the best idea. Buying loungewear for boys and girls isn’t usually much of an issue thanks to variety and choice. Many of them have unisexual fits, allowing both genders to wear them without any size or fit issues.

Shopping Made Easy

Usually, as long as kids are happy with the color and it feels comfy, they will wear what you buy for them happily. In a way, shopping for kids is much easier than shopping for yourself or your significant other as their choice requirements are quite minimal.

With the steps and tricks mentioned above, you shouldn’t have too much of a problem buying loungewear for your kids.
